Contact Jon McMack (see contacts page) for
info on referee classes. Classes for new referees are held throughout the year
in many regions. The calendar page may list these classes. Details are
available at the sponsoring region’s web sites.
Part of the training as an entry level referee, a regional referee, is a one-hour course designed to protect children and volunteers. It is called Safe Haven Certification. This training is normally done prior to the main part of the regional referee class. The essentials of the class are available on-line at: http://www.aysosm.org/safehaven/.
This link is for information only to prepare you for the class, except in the case of emergencies.
Check with your Region before taking the on-line class. See the Regions page or Contacts page to contact your Region. A letter from the NSTC indicating that this is an approved method of acquiring Safe Haven Certification can be viewed at http://www.aysosm.org/safehaven/approval.pdf.
